The HD Anywhere EX50 HDMI extender is a useful bit of kit for any custom installer. The EX50 50m HDMI over Cat extender set with built-in HDMI loop out, two-way IR and ARC, delivers Full HD 1080p video and audio simultaneously to a local and a remote display up to 50m away.
EX50 can send Full HD 1080p, 24-bit colour video up to 50m and also supports 3D up to 40m over a single Cat 6 cable (using lower category network cables could reduce achievable distances.) If used with an ARC-equipped display, up to 5.1 channel audio can be extracted via the digital COAX break-out.
The HDMI loop out, designed for use with a local display or AVR, eliminates the need for an add-on splitter, helping installers minimise expenditure and achieve neater installs.
Nine selectable on-board EDID modes and two EDID copy modes enable the highest resolution audio to be passed to an AVR via the HDMI loop out, whilst video is sent to the display location. EX50 supports up to 7.1 multichannel audio, including Dolby True-HD, DTS Master-HD.
Every EX50 is supplied with a transmitter and receiver, one pair of IR transmitters and one pair of IR receivers, two 5V 1A DC in-line power supplies, and a pair of rack-mounting ears. Though non-PoE, the receiver can be powered by HDanywhere™ USB to 5V power leads (these must be purchased separately from EX50 and your TV must be able to deliver the required voltage to support 5V power leads).
